Standard surgery for gastric cancer in Germany (Video)

In this video the performance of an open spleen-preserving total gastrectomy shall be shown in a patient suffering from a locally advanced gastric carcinoma after preoperative chemotherapy. Total gastrectomy is combined with omentectomy and en-bloc D2-lymphadenectomy. The reconstruction is carried out by the ROUX-en-Y procedure performing the esophagojejunostomy hand sewn or by stapler.
