Udom Kachintorn is clinical professor and Dean Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Udom graduated from the Mahidol University Faculty of Medicine in 1978, then went on to pursue internship, internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship training at the Siriraj Hospital. From 1988 to 1990, he was the recipient of a gastroenterology research fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, USA.
Professor Udom’s research interests encompass functional dyspepsia, Helicobacter pylori infection, gut microbiota, upper GI bleeding and gastric cancer. He was a member of the working group which developed Asian Consensus Report on Functional Dyspepsia (2012), Asia-Pacific Working Group consensus on non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (2011), the Second Asia-Pacific Consensus Guidelines for Helicobacter pylori Infection (2009).
Professor Udom is the past President of the Gastroenterological Association of Thailand, and he previously served as President of Asian Pacific Digestive Week 2012 held in Bangkok.
