ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to compare patient acceptance of limited preparation CT colonography (CTC) with full-preparation optical colonoscopy (OC) both immediately and 5-weeks after the procedures.MethodsPatients' preferences were assessed both immediately after the examinations and 5 weeks after examinations. Results291 patients were included directly after the examination and 193 patients were included 5-weeks after the examination. The most burdensome part of the examinations (in decreasing order) were preparation of OC (Directly after, 36.0%; 5-weeks after, 45.4%), OC itself (47.5%; 35.2%), preparation of CTC (10.1%; 14.8%), and CTC itself (6.5%; 4.6%). ConclusionPatients prefer CTC to OC. After 5 weeks, the acceptance of preparations were decreased compared with the examination itself.
