Professor Francis Chan is Choh-Ming Li Professor of Medicine & Therapeutics and Dean of Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
A world-renowned researcher in peptic ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding, he has published over 500 full scientific articles and an h-index of 84. He became the first in academic history who has published 7 first-authored original articles in the New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet. His research work has revolutionized management guidelines worldwide, including those issued by the American College of Gastroenterology, the American College of Cardiology Foundation, the American Heart Association, and many European countries.
