Travel Award Program | Japan Digestive Disease Week 2018 [JDDW 2018 KOBE]

Travel Award Program for Doctors/Researchers Aged 40 or Under

The JDDW 2018 Travel Award Program was established to foster global interaction among young doctors and researchers. Abstract authors are encouraged to apply for our Travel Award, as outlined below:

1. NUMBER OF AWARDS

A total of 41 people will be receiving Travel Awards; 10 awards from the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology, 12 from the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, 10 from the Japan Society of Hepatology, 8 from the Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery, 1 from Japanese Society of Gastrointestinal Cancer Screening.

2. AWARD DETAILS

Transportation: Actual cost of transportation, up to one thousand US dollars (US$1,000).
Registration.

*	These expenses will be reimbursed after JDDW 2018 is over and your presence is confirmed.

Accommodation: JDDW will reserve a hotel room and cover the cost (single room for four nights).

3. APPLICATION ACCEPTANCE PERIOD

Noon, Thursday, February 1 through noon, Tuesday, March 20, 2018, Japan time (same as the application period for JDDW 2018 abstracts).

4. ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

Young overseas doctors/researchers, who live outside of Japan, without Japanese nationality, 40 years old or younger, as of November 1, 2018 (the first day of JDDW 2018).
Please submit your CV for application.
You are requested to pay the Participation/Registration fee of JPY15,000 in advance. In the event that your abstract is selected for the Travel Award Program, the fee will be refunded.

5. SELECTION PROCESS

The program committee of each society will select the Travel Award winners by reviewing abstracts received for JDDW 2018.

6. HOW TO APPLY

Please apply by submitting your abstract. Online submission of abstracts for the theme sessions and digital poster sessions for the Travel Award Program can be made from the Submission Page (click the "Submit" button).

7. AWARD NOTIFICATION

Each applicant will be notified by e-mail around late July of 2018.

8. PENALTY FOR ABSTRACT CANCELLATION OR NON-PRESENTATION

After the decision on acceptance of abstracts, if you cancel your abstract or do not present your abstract at the conference, you will be prohibited from submitting abstracts to JDDW for a period of two (2) years.

*	Important note: In case you would require supporting documents for Visa application, please note that the Secretariat will only provide an Invitation Letter. A “Letter of Guarantee” will not be provided.
