 The WEO & JGES Joint Venture for the 3rd World Congress of Endoscopy, Kyoto 2022: A President’s Perspective

WEO the voice of worldwide endoscopy is been considered a major endoscopy society. WEO has successfully organized two World Congresses of Endoscopy and currently many prestigious endoscopy workshops and courses around the globe, all promoting innovations and best practice of GI endoscopy.
As President of WEO and of ENDO 2022, I feel honored to organize the 3rd World Congress of Endoscopy, ENDO 2022 along with Professor Hisao Tajiri as Co-President. ENDO 2022 will be held in cooperation with the 103rd Congress of JGES and its President, Professor Haruhiko Ogata. This joint event will be held in Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan, in a world-class facility, the Kyoto International Conference Center, and Grand Prince Hotel.
An important milestone for ENDO 2022 was the selection of internationally renowned experts, Drs. Prateek Sharma (USA) and Yutaka Saito (Japan), chair and co-chair respectively, of the Scientific Committee and Dr. Nageshwar Reddy (India), chair of the Steering Committee. In May 2020 the core leadership representing 15 countries and 5 continents started to develop an exciting international meeting and scientific program that included the most innovative and significant themes of GI endoscopy. ENDO 2022 looks forward to gathering an important number of international delegates and welcoming the Japanese local scientific community. More importantly, through this joint venture, WEO seeks to strengthen even more the long-lasting relationship with JGES.
