Body: The aim of this study is to determine the incidence of SCMP in the liver transplant recipients through a review of literature.
Methods: A systematic database search was conducted on Feb 10th 2022. Nineteen studies with 68 cases were identified.
Results: LT was performed most commonly for alcohol indued cirrhosis(31.4%), HCV cirrhosis(24.8%) and NASH releated cirrhosis(18.5%). Median patient age was 53 years (range 33-73) and equally distributed across both sexes(1:1). Median observed MELD score was 25(range 6-44) Most cases 92.8% were within first postoperative week without any evidence of CAD. ST elevation in 33.3% whilst EF 20% (range10-40%). CPR was required in 11.6%. The reported mortality was 13.2%.
Conclusions: The development of a SCMP following LT should be considered as a serious complication, which was equally observed in females and within first week of LT with decline in EF in absence of CAD.
