The 26th General Meeting of the Japan Society of Hepatology
President: Michiie Sakamoto
Department of Pathology,
Keio University School of Medicine
I am Michiie Sakamoto from Department of Pathology Keio University, and I am the chair of the 26th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Hepatology at JDDW 2022. I am honored to serve as the President of the long-established Japan Society of Hepatology and be the part of JDDW with other 4 linked societies.
The theme of this meeting is to cover the basis and heterogeneity of hepatology. With continuous research, we have achieved a better understanding of liver disease and made progress in its diagnosis and treatment. The treatment of Hepatitis C has been particularly successful, where at the same time, the heterogeneity of liver disease is becoming more prominent.
We hope to be able to discuss the pathophysiology of the underlying liver disease, the treatment strategies, as well as the heterogeneity and the complexity of liver disease phenotype. Furthermore, we also plan to address the issue of intractable gastrointestinal cancer, centered on the hepatobiliary pancreatic cancer. This topic will be specially arranged to JDDW joint program.
We are looking forward to welcoming many participants and having fruitful discussion during the beautiful 2022 fall season in Fukuoka.
