Starting with the world's first case of POEM (Per-oral endoscopic myotomy) in 2008, submucosal endoscopy has developed into techniques such as Z-POEM (POES), D-POEM, and G-POEM. These methods are increasingly becoming standard treatments for the upper gastrointestinal tract. Moreover, our endoscopic therapy for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) began with ARMS (anti-reflux mucosectomy) and has progressed to ARMA (anti-reflux mucosal ablation) and ARM-P (anti-reflux muco-plasty). Presently, we are implementing ARM-PV, a technique that forms a mucosal valve during fundoplication. This report will cover the principles of ARM-PV and its clinical outcomes. |
