Message from JDDW 2025 Chairperson

On the occasion of the Japan Digestive Disease Society of 2025 (JDDW 2025)

The 33rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology (JDDW 2025) will be held at the Kobe Convention Center during the four-day period from Thursday, October 30 to Sunday, November 2, 2025. JDDW 2025 will include the 67th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology, the 110th Annual Meeting of the Japan Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society, the 29th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Hepatology, the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery, and the 63rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastrointestinal Cancer Screening will be held.

The first JDDW was held in 1993 and has become one of the largest scientific meetings in Japan, with 20,000 participants in 2012 and 24,000 participants in 2023. By bringing together physicians, researchers, and medical staff from diverse area in digestive organ-related fields, JDDW has been disseminating the latest findings and information on medical technology in a wide range of fields across disciplines, including not only specialized fields but also crossover fields.

At JDDW 2025, the "Integrated Program," one of the programs planned by the societies in cooperation, will focus on the themes of conversion surgery for gastrointestinal cancers, rare malignancies, genomic medicine, microbiome, imAR, and medical-engineering collaboration.

In addition, "Medical Seminar" will discuss "Current Status and Challenges of Workplace Reform for Physicians". In addition, the "Female Doctors and Researchers Program" will focus on "Career Plans by Age Group in Academic Societies," and the "Medical Staff Program" will focus on "Importance and Practice of Multidisciplinary Collaboration in a Super-aging Society" and "Training of Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant in the Field of Gastrointestinal Disease. In addition, "International Sessions" and "Strategic International Sessions," which emphasize collaboration with Asian, European, and U.S. countries, are planned at each conference. We also invite many speakers from overseas.

With your help, we will make preparations to further enhance this conference, which has nurtured many people involved in gastroenterological diseases and fostered the next generation of colleagues. We sincerely look forward to your participation in JDDW 2025.
