Biliary drainage is essential for improving symptoms and conditions and treating the underlying disease in patients with biliary obstruction, cholangitis/cholecystitis, or biloma. Endoscopic drainage of the biliary system can be achieved through transpapillary drainage using ERCP-guided approaches or transmural drainage using EUS-guided ones, which are widely utilized in clinical practice. Recent years have seen various innovations in biliary drainage techniques to address more complex pathologies, such as hilar bile duct obstruction and biliary diseases in surgically altered anatomy, and to improve the efficiency and safety of the managements of biliary disorders. This workshop welcomes a wide range of abstracts on innovations and attempts in biliary drainage to facilitate discussion on the updated approaches to biliary drainage.
