Dr. Liangpunsakul is a Professor of Medicine, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Indiana University. His research encompasses basic, translational, and clinical studies aimed at elucidating the pathogenesis of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). He serves as the principal investigator on multiple research projects funded by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Merit Review) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH/NIAAA). Dr. Liangpunsakul has authored or co-authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications. He currently serves as the Education Lead for the AASLD Special Interest Group on ALD and as an Associate Editor of HEPATOLOGY.
