Crohn's disease (CD) affects entire digestive system. More than eighty percent of patients with CD have small bowel lesions. Active lesions in the small bowel are independently associated with poorer prognoses in them. However, small bowel was a region difficult to approach by conventional endoscopic methods. Capsule endoscopy provides clear images of the small bowel mucosa without invasiveness. Balloon-assisted endoscopy enables detailed luminal assessment with image enhanced endoscopy, histological diagnosis by targeted biopsies, and therapeutic interventions such as dilation of strictures, hemostasis, and foreign body removal. The appropriate utilization of these small bowel endoscopies is the key to better control of CD lesions. In this workshop, we look forward to presentations of new endoscopic approaches and discussing them for improving prognosis of the patients with CD.
