Dr. Shu-Chen Wei graduated from the Institute of Clinical Medicine at National Taiwan University in 2004 and completed her research fellowship in Dr. Podolsky's laboratory (GI Unit, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston) from 2006 to 2008. She was recognized as the Best Resident of the Department of Internal Medicine at NTUH from 1993 to 1997 and received the Best Attending Physician Award from the College of Medicine at National Taiwan University in 2002.
She has received numerous honors, including the Scholarship for PhD Students from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at Academia Sinica (1999), the Young Clinician Award from the World Congress of Gastroenterology (2002), the Outstanding Article Award from the Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan (2003), the Outstanding Article Award from the Prof. Juei-Low Sung Research Foundation (2005), and the Taiwan Merit Scholarship (July 2006-June 2008).
Dr. Wei is currently a Clinical Professor at NTUH. She is an AGAF and a member of ECCO. In 2025, she was selected as an Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong Society of Gastroenterology. She currently serves as President of the Taiwan Society of IBD (TSIBD) and is a member of both the Advisory Board and the Educational Committee of the Asian Organization for Crohn's and Colitis (AOCC), as well as a Global Task Force member appointed by ECCO.
