Travel Award Program Application Outline

JDDW 2016 will establish a Travel Award Program for the purpose of development and exchange between young overseas doctors and researchers. The outline of the application process is shown below. We are looking forward to your application.

1. Number of awards:

Awards will go to 35 people (from Japanese Society of Gastroenterology for 10 people, from Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society for 10 people, from Japan Society of Hepatology for 6 people, from Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery for 6 people and from Japanese Society of Gastrointestinal Cancer Screening for 3 people).

2. Award details:

Travel expense: Actual cost of travel(airfare) of up to one thousand US dollars (US$1,000); Accommodation fee: JDDW will reserve and pay for the hotel room(single room x 4 nights); Registration fee.

3. Application acceptance period:

From February 1 (Mon), 2016 through to noon, March 23 (Wed), 2016 (Same as the application period for JDDW 2016 abstracts).

4. Eligible applicants:

Young overseas doctors/researchers, without Japanese nationality(in principle, 40 years old or younger).

* Age as of the start date of JDDW 2016 (November 3, 2016)

Please submit your CV for application.
You are requested to pay the Participation/Registration fee of JPY 20,000 in advance. In the event that your abstract is selected for the Travel Award Program, the fee will be refunded.

*	You will be able to participate JDDW 2016 without any additional fee, if you register APDW 2016

5. Selection process:

The program committee of each society will select award winners by reviewing abstracts received for JDDW 2016.

6. How to apply:

Please apply by submitting your abstract for JDDW 2016. Please click here for application.
Online submission of abstracts for the theme sessions and digital poster sessions for the Travel Award Program will be available from the Submission Page. You can submit your abstract by clicking “Submit” button.

7. Award notification:

The details will be sent to each applicant by e-mail around August of 2016.

8. Penalty for abstract cancellation or non-presentation:

After the decision on acceptance of abstracts, if you cancel your abstract or do not present your abstract at the conference, you will be prohibited from submitting abstracts to JDDW for a period of two (2) years.

*	Important note: In case you would require supporting documents for Visa application, please note that the Secretariat will only provide an Invitation Letter. A “Letter of Guarantee” will not be provided.
