I am Sumiko Nagoshi of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Saitama Medical University. It is truly an honor for me to serve as President of the 65th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology that is steeped in history, at JDDW 2023.
The committee consisting of Meetings’ and Congress’ Presidents and other representatives from each society has taken the lead in putting together the Integrated Program, Seminar on Medical Issues, Program for Women in Gastroenterological Field, and Medical Staff Program at JDDW. We are looking forward to having lively discussions from different perspectives on wide-ranging topics, including systems for clinical research support and implementation, new diagnostic modalities in the field of gastroenterology, and the use of social media in career formation.
We have, moreover, prepared many cross-organ topics since the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology covers multiple organs and an expansive area of basic and clinical research, including internal medicine, surgery, endoscopy, and radiology. Another appeal of JDDW is the opportunity to deepen knowledge of the digestive organs in general by attending sessions in various gastroenterology fields. Our meeting will cover inflammatory bowel disease and revised diagnostic criteria for drug-induced liver injury, MAFLD, multidisciplinary care of pancreatic cancer and so on.
Preparations are ongoing to make the scientific congress a fruitful one with opportunities also for deepening relationships. We look forward to seeing many of our members at JDDW 2023 Kobe.
